We, at AOP Noida, Celebrated WBW from 1st to 7th August 2018 in a grand manner in an endeavor to promote, support and perfect breast feeding as the “Foundation of Life” which was also the theme of WEW 2018
A number of activities were carried out under the leadership of Dr. Ritu Gupta as President, Dr. Vivek Goswami as secretary, Dr. Subhash Gupta as Treasurer and Dr. Ajit Saxena as the Vice president. The whole programme was the brain child of our chief advisor Dr. Ruchira M. Gupta and our patron, Dr. Arvind Garg.
Day 1 – The WBW was inaugurated on 1st of August 2018 at Hotel Radisson Sector 55, Noida where all the leading paediatrician of Noida were present. CMO, Dr. Anurag Bhargava was the chief guest. In his address, Dr. Anurag Bhargava emphasized the importance of breast feeding. All the paediatricians took pledge to support and promote this cause
On 2nd, 3rd and 4th of August 2018, Intra Hospital Quiz competition was held for the Nursing staff of all the main hospitals of Noida, where almost 200 nurses were benefitted with knowledge and importance of breast feeding.
Day 2 – Intra hospital competition was held at Apollo Hospital, Noida, Metro Hospital and Yatharth Hospital.
Breast feeding awareness programme including poster and slogan writing and awareness talk to the mother’s competition at an NGO run school Sri Sri Ganan Mandir located in the slums of sector -5 Noida. Around 200 children participated in the contest. The winners from each category were chosen from prize distribution on Day 7. AOP Noida encouraged all the participants with gifts and appreciation. The lunch was arrange for the children and their mother.
Day 3 – Intra Hospital quiz competition was held at Kailash Hospital, Jaypee Hospital and Tripathi Hospital.
Day 4 – Intra Hospital quiz competition was held at Fortis Hospital, Surbhi Hospital, and Naveen Hospital.
Day 5 – Breast feeding awareness programme was held at Titliyan, a school for underprivileged run by an NGO in Sector – 19, Noida
Around 250 children and 100 mother participated. Breast feeding awareness talks and poster making and slogan writing competition on breast feeding was held. All the participants were given appreciation award along with gifts. The winners were chosen for the prize distribution ceremony on Day 7. Snacks were arranged for all the children and the mother.
Day 6 – A grand final of the quiz competition was held at Kailash Hospital, Conference Hall. The chief guest was Dr. Uma Sharma, CMD of Kailash Group of Hospital. The press conference was held and all the major newspaper covered the event.
The important of exclusive breast feeding in first six months of life was discussed and emphasized. Final round of Intra Hospital Quiz competition was held for the Nurses from all the eight Hospiotals. The winners were awarded with Mega Prizes, Trophies and certificate.
Day 7- Children who won the Slogan, writing and poster making competition were invited for the prize distribution at Hotel Fortune Inn Grazia. They were honored with Mega Prizes, Medals and Certificate.
